Service for Deacon. Randy Isiah Harris, 66, of Columbia, South Carolina will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 10;30 am St. Mark Baptist Church 2700 Chestnut Street Columbia, South Carolina with burial in the Ft. Jackson National Cemetery 4170 Percival Road Columbia, South Carolina. Mr. Harris will lie in-state at the church Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 am . Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 to 6:00 pm at the Pearson's Funeral Home 4508 N. Main Street Columbia, South Carolina He departed this life at the age of 66, years old, on Friday, February 27, 2026. Born in Columbia, South Carolina the son of Mrs. Barbara Jean Harris Jefferson and the late Louis Scott on August 12, 1959. Randy matriculated through the schools of Richland County School District One, graduated from A.C. Flora High School. He went to attend Midlands Technical College and enlisted in the United States Army Reserve, from which he retired. He also retired from the South Carolina Department of Corrections, after 25 years of service as a Correctional Officer at the Manning Correctional Institution. Randy owned and operated his own business, the Harris Janitorial Service. Most recently, Randy was employed at Prisma Health in Transportation, where he has worked for the last ten years. Randy spent his retirement years traveling and enjoying the adventures of exploring other cultures (i.e., Jamaica, Hawaii, and Australia ). At an early age Rev. Charles Jackson baptized Randy at St. Mark Baptist Church. Deacon Harris served on many ministries and went to be the chairman of the Deacon Board. He also served as the parliamentarian for the United Baptist Deacons of Greater Columbia. Randy leaves to cherish his memory; his son, Randy Carter; his daughter, Celeste Jones (Billy); his grandchildren, Kalaisia Harris, Sade Harris and Elijah Jones; his mother, Barbara Jean Harris Jefferson; his sisters, Betty Jean Simuel; Vivian Harris, Yvonne Sharon Gladman (Michael), and Terry Harris; his aunts Viola Harris, Vera Woods, and Claretta Harris; his uncle James (Sandra); his nephew, Michael Gladman, Jr. (Vicky); his great niece Rachel Gladman; his great nephew, Jordan Gladman; and a host of other loving relatives, church family members, and caring friends.
